Scientific interests:

Kamilla Pawłowska is currently an associate professor at the University of Adam Mickiewicz, Poland, where she co-creates paleoenvironmental research. Her participation in the Çatalhöyük Research Project allowed her to study animals from environmental, economic, and social perspectives from the Neolithic onwards. Her research interests include Paleolithic Europe, Neolithic Near East, human-animal relations, the relationship between climatic and cultural change, the study of health and disease in past animal populations, and worked bone study. Pawłowska is an enthusiastic advocate of contextual zooachaeology, which she uses in his research. Her research also focuses on understanding the significance of animals for human in the past as part of social zooarchaeology, as well as the issues related to taphonomic studies with particular reference to depositional practices.
